Chapter 1: JARED PARKER - part 3

EXT. PARTY HOUSE BACKYARD - CONTINUOUS

JARED PARKER
Holy Shit! How'd you get away?

KIMBERLY RAYNOR
I just kept kicking and pushing him
until he stopped biting me, then I
started running. I was only a few
blocks from the hospital, so I went
there and they fixed me up and
called the cops and stuff.

JARED PARKER
So did they catch the guy?

KIMBERLY RAYNOR
Not yet. They said they'd call me
if they found someone that matched
the description.

Kimberly tilts her cup back to take a drink but it's empty so
she just tosses it aside.

JARED PARKER
I'm gonna go get another beer you
want one?

KIMBERLY RAYNOR
Sure.

JARED PARKER
Cool.
(he holds out his hand)
My name's Jared by the way.

KIMBERLY RAYNOR
I'm Kim.

They shake.

INT. PARTY HOUSE - CONTINUOUS

Inside the party has thinned out a little Danny and a group
of girls are huddled around a bong watching the news.

DANNY BATES
Dude, you gotta come see this.

Jared walks into the living room.

NEWS REPORTER
-recent attacks throughout the
Midwest. The majority of attacks
have been seemingly unprovoked and
completely random. We do know,
however, that the first attacks
reported were in Wisconsin early this
morning leaving many to believe this
is not a terrorist attack.

JARED PARKER
Yeah that's interesting and
everything but I gotta get back
outside.

He heads into the kitchen where he finds Ryan and Tiffany
making out on the table.

He just ignores them and heads to the fridge to find half of
his beers are gone so he just grabs the whole box.

When he turns to leave Ryan and Tiffany are gone.

EXT. PARTY HOUSE BACKYARD - NIGHT

Jared gets to the backyard to find Kimberly slumped over on
her side.

JARED PARKER
Ah, shit.

He sets down the beers and kneels down over Kimberly.

JARED PARKER (cont'd)
Hey Kim, you okay?

She doesn't respond and Jared starts to get a little worried.

JARED PARKER (cont'd)
(shaking her this time)
Kim, wake up.
(shaking her harder now)
Come one Kim, wake Up!

He puts his fingers on Kimberly's neck trying to find a
pulse.

Your material is smooth and has good pacing; I definitely like where this is going. It sort of how a graphic novel would read, which is the perfect feel for this.
