EXT. PARTY HOUSE - NIGHT
Loud music can be heard thumping through the walls of the
house as JARED PARKER and DANNY BATES make their way up the
front yard. Both are in their early twenties and carrying
twelve packs of beer.
JARED PARKER
I can't believe I let you talk me
into coming here.
DANNY BATES
Well, do you wanna get over Amber
or not?
JARED PARKER
Not really.
DANNY BATES
Well, you're gonna have to sooner
or later.
JARED PARKER
It's been six hours!
DANNY BATES
Better sooner than later, right?
JARED PARKER
Whatever.
INT. PARTY HOUSE - CONTINUOUS
The two enter the house to find it packed with college kids
including a group of FOUR PRETTY GIRLS who's faces light up
when they spot the two entering the house.
FOUR PRETTY GIRLS
DANNY!
DANNY BATES
Ladies. Who's ready to get high?
Danny heads for the couch as Todd makes his way to the
kitchen.
INT. PARTY HOUSE KITCHEN - CONTINUOUS
Jared has to squeeze past a HUGE JOCK flirting with a HOT
BLONDE before he can get to the fridge.
While sneaking past the two he happens to glance out the
window and spot AMBER CALMAN sitting on the patio table in
the back yard.
He puts the beer in the fridge, opens the box and pulls out
two bottles before heading back out of the kitchen.
The huge jock and hot blonde are making out as Jared passes
them again.
EXT. PARTY HOUSE BACKYARD - NIGHT
Amber gets up off the patio table when she sees Jared
approaching her.
JARED PARKER
You wanna beer?
AMBER CALMAN
What are you doing here?
JARED PARKER
I just wanna talk.
AMBER CALMAN
There's nothing talk about.
She tries to brush by Jared but he blocks her way.
JARED PARKER
What, so I don't even get an
explanation?
AMBER CALMAN
It won't change anything.
JARED PARKER
So than what's the harm in
explaining yourself?
AMBER CALMAN
I met somebody else, okay?
JARED PARKER
Since this afternoon?
AMBER CALMAN
No. It started about two months
ago.
Jared is shocked.
JARED PARKER
Who?
AMBER CALMAN
What difference does it make?
She tries to get past him again but this time he grabs her by
the shoulders.
JARED PARKER
I think I deserve to know.
AMBER CALMAN
His name is Ryan. Happy?
Before Jared can respond something large and hard connects
with his face and knocks him to the ground.
