Chapter 2: THE BARISI BROS. - part 1

   INT. HOTEL ROOM - NIGHT

TITLE CARD: PINE CITY, MN

ALEX BARISI paces back and forth in front of the window while
FRANKIE, BLUE, and HANSEN play a game of poker.

Frankie is considerably older than the rest of them.

FRANKIE
(to Mitch)
Would you sit down already? I ain't
paying to replace that carpet 'you
wear a hole through it.

Alex sits down at the kitchen bar and sips on his drink. He's
still edgy.

BLUE
So where the fuck is Joey at
anyway?

ALEX BARISI
He'll be here.

FRANKIE
I tell ya, I've put up with alotta
that kid's shit over the years, but
I think it's time we thought about
finding someone else.

ALEX BARISI
We need him.

FRANKIE
Why? There's alotta guys out there
can do what he does.

BLUE
Ones that know how to read a
fucking clock.

ALEX BARISI
I said he'll be here.
(checks his watch)
We got plenty of time anyway.

BLUE
I gotta fifty that says he shows up
high.

Alex gets up from his chair and heads towards Blue.

ALEX BARISI
What the fuck is your problem?

Blue stands up ready to fight as Hansen and Frankie stand up
to keep the two apart.

FRANKIE
Come on guys let's not do this now.

Neither man is backing down.

FRANKIE
(to Mitch)
Like I said it's nothing personal
against you and it's just something
we been thinking about.

Alex heads back for the window as Blue sits back down slowly.

FRANKIE (cont'd)
Come on, let's go over the plan one
more time. Just to keep ourselves
occupied.

Alex gets a worried look on his face as he rushes to the
window.

From Alex's POV we see three cop cars pulling up to the
front of the hotel with their lights flashing.

ALEX BARISI
Fuck!

FRANKIE
What is it?

ALEX BARISI
Cops!

The men quickly scrap the money off the table and reach for
their jackets.

ALEX BARISI (cont'd)
Somebody toss those plans in the
folder and lets get the fuck out of
here.

Hansen gabs the four sheets of paper one of which appears to
be blue prints with the words FIRST NATIONAL BANK OF PINE
CITY on the top in bold letters.

They're all about to head out when a knock at the door
freezes them all in their spots.
