EXT. PARTY HOUSE BACKYARD - NIGHT
Jared looks up to see that the huge jock he just saw making
out with the pretty blonde in the kitchen is standing over
him pissed off as hell.
JARED PARKER
You must be Ryan.
(holds out his hand)
Name's Jared.
Ryan slaps the hand away, stoops down over Jared and punches
him again before Amber tries to pull him off.
AMBER CALMAN
Ryan, that's enough. Come on, let's
get out of here.
Ryan leans in close to Jared's ear.
RYAN
I see you put your hands on Amber
again and you're a deadman, you got
it?
JARED PARKER
Keep her, but you think you could
hook me up with that chick I saw
you with in the kitchen?
Ryan punches Jared again this time square in the nose before
Amber pulls Ryan into the house.
Jared picks up his now mostly empty beer and finishes it off
before noticing that everyone in the backyard is staring at
him.
JARED PARKER
Anyone see where my other beer
went?
Nobody answers but Jared spots it on his own near the house
and crawls to it.
He uses the wall of the house for a back rest as he cracks
open the beer. It foams over a little bit but he get's it to
his mouth pretty quickly.
KIMBERLY RAYNOR
Are you okay?
Jared looks up to see KIMBERLY RAYNOR standing over him with
a drink in one hand and a towel in the other. She looks
concerned.
JARED PARKER
Yeah, I'm fine.
KIMBERLY RAYNOR
Your nose is bleeding pretty bad.
(she holds out a towel)
Here, take this.
Jared takes the towel and wipes the blood off his face as
Kimberly sits down next to him.
It's not exactly a graceful landing though and Jared realizes
that she's pretty drunk.
JARED PARKER
Thanks.
KIMBERLY RAYNOR
That guy clocked you pretty good,
huh?
JARED PARKER
You look like you're having a
pretty rough night yourself.
KIMBERLY RAYNOR
What do you mean?
Jared points to a group of scratch marks on her neck. The
wounds are pretty nasty looking.
JARED PARKER
How'd that happen?
KIMBERLY RAYNOR
Oh, some creep tried to rape me
when I was leaving work this
afternoon.
He's surprised by how unemotional she is about this.
JARED PARKER
Are you serious?
She tells the story as if it happens all the time.
KIMBERLY RAYNOR
(pointing at the
scratches)
This isn't even the worst of it. He
walked up to me mumbling, almost
like he was moaning. I thought he was
hurt or something but when he got close
enough he grabbed my shoulders and tried
to fucking kiss me. When I started
fighting him off he bit me on my neck.
She turns to show Jared a bandaged wound on her neck. Blood
is seeping through it and the skin all around it is black and
blue.
