Chapter 3: KAYLA JANSSON - part 4

EXT. KAYLA JANSSON'S GARAGE - EVENING


Gregg and Kayla sit silently in the SUV staring out the now open garage door behind them for some sign of Paul. 


                              GREGG DONLEY
                    Wh-, Where did he go? 


                              KAYLA JANSSON
                    I don't know, I don't see him.


Gregg puts the vehicle into reverse and slowly backs it out of the garage.


They spot Paul's car across the street smashed head first into the driver's side of a red Mustang.


INT. PAUL'S CAR - CONTINUOUS


Paul is unconscious in the front seat with blood dripping down his face while 19 year old, BECKY HENDERSON, screams at a zombie pinned between the two cars.


The zombie is still moving, struggling to get at her.


INT. KAYLA JANSSON'S SUV - CONTINUOUS


                              KAYLA JANSSON 
                    Oh my god!


                              GREGG DONLEY
                    You know her?


                              KAYLA JANSSON
                    Yeah, she's Josh's babysitter.


EXT. KELLY'S FRONT YARD - CONTINUOUS


Paul finally comes to, gets out of the car and makes his way around to the other side of Becky's car.


Gregg pulls the SUV up to the curb and honks the horn to get Paul's attention.


                              GREGG DONLEY
                    Paul, I think you'd better hurry!


Paul looks up at Gregg to see him pointing at four zombies marching towards them down the middle of the road ahead.


As Paul opens Becky's door she scrambles out of it and into his arms.


                              PAUL JANSSON
                    It's okay, your safe now.


                              BECKY HENDERSON
                    What the hell is going on?


                              PAUL JANSSON
                    I'm not sure. Is your family
                    inside?


                              BECKY HENDERSON
                    No, no they're in Milwaukee for the
                    weekend.


                              PAUL JANSSON
                    Okay then, let's get the hell out
                    of here.

INT. KAYLA JANSSON'S SUV - EVENING


Becky works her way to the far back of the SUV while Kayla tries to comfort her.


Gregg slides over into the passenger seat to let Paul drive. 


                              GREGG DONLEY
                         (to Paul)
                    What's the best way onto 46 from
                    here?


                              PAUL JANSSON
                    Uh, straight ahead.


The four Zombies ahead are still approaching with at least ten more making there way out of and around the houses. All of them are headed for the SUV.


                              GREGG DONLEY
                    You sure about that?


                              PAUL JANSSON 
                    Yeah, just try not to hit any of
                    them.


                              GREGG DONLEY
                    Great.


Gregg puts the car in drive to weave his way through the crowd of zombies until they finally reach open road.


                              GREGG DONLEY (cont'd)
                    Well, that was easier than I
                    expected.


                              PAUL JANSSON
                    Something tells me it's gonna get
                    harder before it's over.
