EXT. FIRST NATIONAL BANK OF PINE CITY - CONTINUOUS
Alex, Joey and Blue are parked outside the bank now watching
as zombies feed on what's left of an old woman's corpse while
others begin others shuffle around the lobby.
BLUE
Perfect.
ALEX BARISI
Are you fucking kidding me?!
Blue gets a worried look on his face and looks around
frantically.
BLUE
What, you see a cop somewhere?
ALEX BARISI
No, but I see about ten of those
fucking people eaters standing
between us and where we need to be.
Blue just holds up his pistol.
BLUE
(to Joey)
What do ya say kid, me and your big
brother here'll keep the biters at
bay while you work your magic with
the locks?
JOEY BARISI
Sounds good to me.
BLUE
Alright, let's do it.
Both Blue and Joey reach for their door handles.
ALEX BARISI
Who the fuck said that I was going
in?
JOEY BARISI
Come on, man. We'll be in and out
in less than a minute I promise.
ALEX BARISI
I don't care if it's less than a
second I'm not-
BLUE
I'll tell ya what. How about you
just sit here and make sure the
car's ready to roll when we get
out. Me and the snow bird here'll
take care of the rest.
(to Joey)
You ready?
JOEY BARISI
Yeah, let's do it.
All three get out and Joey is stopped by Alex as the two pass
in front of the SUV.
ALEX BARISI
You know this isn't gonna go as
smooth as he says it is.
JOEY BARISI
It'll be fine. Besides, I don't
really like my chances of survival
if I don't get this money.
Joey gestures towards his black eye.
ALEX BARISI
There's other way to get money, ya
know.
JOEY BARISI
By tomorrow?
Alex takes a deep sigh.
ALEX BARISI
You gotta gun?
Blue makes his way back to the SUV.
BLUE
Would you two mind wrapping it up
soon, cause I don't really like
being out here any longer than I
have to.
JOEY BARISI
(to Alex)
I'll be fine.
Joey and Blue make their way into the bank as Alex heads
around to the driver's seat of the SUV.
He opens the door but pauses for a second as he rethinks his
decision.
ALEX BARISI
Fucking shit!
Alex slams the door shut again and pulls out his gun as he
heads towards the bank's front entrance.
A few zombies on the sidewalk have taken notice of him but
Alex rushes into the bank before they even get close.
INT. FIRST NATIONAL BANK OF PINE CITY - NIGHT
Alex enters the bank to see seven zombies laying dead in the
lobby, but even more are heading towards the vault.
Alex opens fire on the nearest one nailing it three times in
the chest.
All the shots do are get the zombie's attention along with
all the others within earshot.
ALEX BARISI
Shit!
SHADOWY MAN (O.S.)
You gotta get'em in the head.
Alex turns to see a man completely obscured by shadow at the
other end of the bank's lobby. The man is clubbing zombies
left and right, crushing their skulls with some kind of metal
rod.
ALEX BARISI
What?
The man steps a little further into the light revealing a
shirt and tie almost completely covered in blood but his face
remains in the dark.
SHADOWY MAN
You gotta hit them in their heads.
It's the only way to keep'em down.
The man disappears into the shadows again, crushing zombie
skulls with his metal rod.
Alex turns back to the zombie he shot earlier and gets
startled by the fact that it's considerably closer now.
He aims his gun again, this time sending a bullet straight
through it's head.
The zombie slumps to the ground instantly.
ALEX BARISI
Nice.
Just then a gunshot rings out from the vault followed shortly
by two more in quick succession.
ALEX BARISI (cont'd)
JOEY!
Alex rushes to the vault in the back of the bank, stopping to
fire on a couple of zombies before he get's there.
INT. BANK VAULT - CONTINUOUS
Alex enters the vault in a hurry only to find Joey lying on
the floor bleeding from two separate bullet holes.
ALEX BARISI
Oh, fuck! Joey?
Alex notices that one safe deposit box is open and empty as
he kneels down to check on Joey.
Joey coughs up blood as Alex cradles his head in his arms.
JOEY BARISI
(barely audible)
He doesn't...
Alex leans in closer.
ALEX BARISI
What?
JOEY BARISI
(barely audible)
He doesn't have...
Joey's gives one last violent cough of blood before dieing.
