INT. SAFE HOUSE BATHROOM - CONTINUOUS
JOEY BARISI
Would you just fucking relax.
Joey struggles to his feet only to be struck back down by
Alex.
ALEX BARISI
I ask you everyday if you were
still clean and every day what do
you say? You'd say "Of course man,
I've been clean since December, I
wouldn't lie to you." And what were
you fucking doing?
Alex smacks the line of coke on the counter sending the
powder all over the bathroom.
ALEX BARISI
You were fuckin' lying to me Joey!
Alex picks up the full bag of coke now.
JOEY BARISI
It's not like that. I just, I just
do a little before a job and when
I'm tense, you know, just to stay
cool.
ALEX BARISI
What fuckin' job do you think we're
gonna pull? We don't even have a
crew anymore for Christ's sake!
BLUE (O.C.)
Looks like you boys are having one
hell of a party.
They both turn to see Blue standing in the living room with a
fast food bag in one hand and a cigarette in his mouth.
Alex tosses the bag back down on the counter and heads out to
the living room to confront Blue.
INT. SAFE HOUSE - CONTINUOUS
ALEX BARISI
Where the fuck were you?
Blue holds up the bag of food.
BLUE
Stopped to get dinner. Didn't think
you'd appreciate it.
ALEX BARISI
It's been almost an hour!
BLUE
I was being careful. Not to mention
the drive-thru lane was slow as all
fuck.
Blue sits down at the table and pulls a double cheeseburger
out of the bag.
BLUE
You guys gonna eat or not? It ain't
good to work on an empty stomach.
ALEX BARISI
Work? You still expect us to go
through with the job after this?
BLUE
Why not?
Alex isn't sure they're both having the same conversation.
ALEX BARISI
What'd you get in an accident and
hit your head on the way here? You
don't remember the fucking cops at
the hotel?
BLUE
We don't gotta worry about the cops
anymore.
Alex waits for an explanation that never comes.
ALEX BARISI
You expect the two of us to just go
along with your word on that, or do
you got more to say?
Blue sets his cheeseburger down and turns on the small TV
using the remote control.
On the TV is News Reporter SALLY SUMMERS with footage of what
appears to be a "normal" riot behind her.
The footage fills the screen now as people are looting and
beating up zombies on the city streets while cops try to
regain control of the crowds.
SALLY SUMMERS (V.O.)
This footage was shot earlier this
afternoon in Spring Green, Wisconsin
near the site of where this "virus"
was reportedly first documented. I
must warn you that the following footage
is extremely graphic but we here at CNBC
strongly believe it's necessary for you
to understand what we're truly facing
right now. Please take a moment to remove
any small children from the room now.
ALEX BARISI
What the fuck does a riot in Spring
Green Wisconsin have to do with us?
BLUE
This is just where it started. I
was listening to the radio on the
way here, they say it's like this
all over the midwest and spreading
like herpes on a high school
wrestling team.
The footage finally starts.
EXT. SMALL TOWN ROAD - NEWS FOOTAGE
A woman in a business suit is pulling an OLD MAN out of the
cab of his truck. She only gets him partially out when she
begins to eat the flesh from the Old Man's face.
INT. SAFE HOUSE - NIGHT
ALEX BARISI
What the fuck?
JOEY BARISI
What the fuck?
Blue pauses to gauge the brothers' reactions. Joey is clearly
eager to pull the job.
BLUE
Makes one hell of a distraction
don't ya think?
