Jared pulls the police baton out of his pocket again and
drives it down through the top of a small child zombie's
head.
Blood squirts out of the hole as he retracts the baton.
Jared takes out two more leaving only three between him and
the house when he hears a GIRL SCREAMING inside.
Jared quickly smashes in two zombie skulls as the GIRL'S
SCREAM turns into a gurgle followed by silence.
Jared kills the final zombie and rushes into the house to
find four more zombies eating a YOUNG REDHEAD.
INT. PARTY HOUSE - CONTINUOUS
The zombies pay little attention to Jared as they feast on
the girl, allowing him to bash their heads in one by one with
ease.
JARED PARKER
Danny?!
(beat)
Danny you here?
DANNY BATES (O.C.)
Jared that you?
Jared finally spots Danny at the top of the steps.
JARED PARKER
Why would you leave the door open?
DANNY BATES
That was Ryan.
Danny makes his way down the steps.
DANNY BATES
We were trying to get the windows
boarded up and all of a sudden he
just bolted out the door. Didn't
shut it behind him. By the time I
even knew he was gone they were
pouring in, so I got the girls and
brought them upstairs. Locked
ourselves in a-.
Danny finally hits the bottom of the steps and get's his
first good look at Jared.
DANNY BATES
Is that blood?
Jared looks down and notices his arms and chest are covered
in blood.
JARED PARKER
Yeah, it's been a busy night.
DANNY BATES
I'll bet.
(beat)
So, what's the plan?
JARED PARKER
I suppose we should keep boarding
up the windows.
Just then they hear GLASS SHATTERING in the kitchen.
Jared rushes to check it out with Danny trailing slightly
behind him.
INT. PARTY HOUSE KITCHEN - CONTINUOUS
They enter the kitchen to find that a pack of zombies have
broken through the sliding glass door.
JARED PARKER
Fuck!
DANNY BATES
Ah shit, what now?
JARED PARKER
We gotta block the door. Help me
move this table.
Jared and Danny push the kitchen table all the way against
the sliding glass door.
DANNY BATES
This isn't gonna stop'em.
JARED PARKER
It'll slow'em down enough though.
Come on.
INT. PARTY HOUSE - NIGHT
Jared and Danny push the living room couch to the bottom of
the staircase using it as a sort of barricade.
They go back and each grab a reclining chair to stack on top
of the couch.
DANNY BATES
(out of breath)
You think that's good enough?
Jared peeks into the kitchen.
JARED PARKER
We've got time and we don't know
how long we're gonna have to hold
out before. Let's get as much shit
as we can.
Danny sighs in disappointment as Jared heads back to the
living room and grabs the coffee table.
TITLE CARD: 11 MINUTES LATER
The two are now at the top of the stairs looking down on
their makeshift barricade.
DANNY BATES
You think it'll work?
JARED PARKER
It'll work.
DANNY BATES
I don't know. We got over it pretty
easy.
JARED PARKER
These guys aren't exactly the
athletic types, but I guess we'll
just have to wait and see.
